Karicare AR is a thickened infant formula. It is designed to provide specialised nutrition assistance to babies experiencing common problems associated with infant formula regurgitation. It may be used as an alternative to standard formula until 12 months of age. Please consult your Child Health Nurse or Paediatrician for advice on reflux.
Skim milk, lactose, vegetable oils (contains soy oil), maltodextrin, milk fat, thickener (carob bean gum), minerals, vitamins, soy lecithin, acidity regulator (citric acid), choline, chloride, taurine.
Minerals: sodium citrate, potassium citrate, calcium carbonate, magnesium chloride, zinc sulphate, manganese sulphate, potassium iodide, ferrous sulphate, copper sulphate.
Vitamins: Sodium ascorbate, dl-alpha-tocopheryl acetate, nicotinamide, retinyl palmitate, calcium d-pantothenate, cyanocobalamin, thiamin hydrochloride, cholecalciferol, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin-5-phosphate, folic acid, vitamin k, biotin.
1. Wash hands before preparing the feed. Sterilise bottles, teats and utensils by boiling or using an approved sterilising agent.
2. Boil water and allow to cool to approximately feeding temperature (37oC ).
3. Measure the required volume of cooled, boiled water into a sterilised feeding bottle.
4. Use only the provided scoop. Fill the scoop lightly and level off with a knife. Avoid compacting powder. Add the required number of level scoops of instantised powder
5. Always add one level scoop of powder for each 50mL of water.
6. Place the cap on the bottle and shake to dissolve the powder. Before feeding, check the feed is at the right temperature by shaking a few drops on your wrist. Note: Use a single holed medium to fast flow teat. Never save unfinished feeds.
Store in a cool dry place. After opening keep container airtight and use contens within four weeks. For all brands of formula it is safer to use immediately after they are prepared.
Warnings
Breast milk is best for babies. Before you decide to use this product, consult your doctor or health worker for advice.
Unboiled water, unboiled bottles or incorrect dilution can make your baby ill. Prepare only one bottle at a time. Follow instructions exactly. Prepare bottles and teats as directed. Using more or less powder than indicated will either lead to dehydration or deprive your baby of proper nutrition. Do not change proportions of powder except on medical advice. After 4-6 months of age your baby may need additional nourishment. Consult your doctor.
