The Selenium in Blooms Selenium Forte is a compound of the important antioxidant glutathione peroxidase, which helps protect cells and tissues against the damaging effects of free radicals.
While free radicals arise normally in the body and do have a function, factors such as pollution, radiation, cigarette smoke and herbicides can create an abundance of them leading to premature ageing and disease. Selenium binds to metals such as lead, mercury, aluminum and silver minimising their absorption in the body.
